The Latin Dutchman: Uniting Two Worlds
Our History
Founded in 2025 by Roberto Lescrauwaet, a Dutch-Ecuadorian, The Latin Dutchman is more than a company. It’s a movement toward authenticity, transparency, and respect for one’s roots.
About Us
The mission stems from a deep conviction: the world needs products that tell authentic, not manufactured, stories. Where trade is truly fair, and where nature and people come first.
For years, we watched as traditional trade exploited producers and destroyed ecosystems. We decided not only to criticize the system, but to be part of the change.
Our Founding Values
✓ Authenticity: Real origin stories
✓ Justice: Above market compensation for producers — not because we have to, but because it’s right
✓ Sustainability: Respect for nature
✓ Transparency: No hidden intermediaries
✓ Empowerment: Support for indigenous communities
CHAKRA Certification
The Differentiating Factor
CHAKRA is a revolutionary model of indigenous certification where indigenous groups themselves certify the sustainability and fair trade of their products through their ancestral worldview.
Reverse the Western Model
We don’t pay Western certifiers. Indigenous people certify based on their own ancestral standards.
Unparalleled Authenticity
No Western certification can match the authenticity of having the community itself validate its own sustainability.
And unlike Fair Trade labels, 100% of the premium stays with the community — not with a certification body.
Power to the Communities
It empowers indigenous communities to be guardians and validators of their own heritage and sustainability.
